I know what you mean..........I was 22 years old when my daughter Kortney was born. I had two 'normal' children who were 3 & 1 at the time. It was really difficult. We also had several years worth of health problems to cope with.

Now, 9 years down the road, things are going very well! Kortney is in the 3rd grade and doing okay!

This web site is a wonderful place to find support and ask questions. There is always someone willing to help out! Glad you found it! Best of luck to you and your family!

MICHAEL WAS BORN IN MARCH OF 95' I WAS 19 YEARS OLD I HAD A DIFFICULT PREGNANCY.I HAD EXCESS AMNIOTIC FLUID...PREM LABOR..I WAS PUT ON BED REST..THROUGHOUT MY PREGNANCY I FELT SOMETHING WAS WRONG..I DIDNT FEEL THE BABY MOVE MUCH..I WOULD GET AN ULTRA SOUND ALMOST EVERY WEEK..DOCTORS SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE.EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE FEELING..WHEN THEY TOLD ME AFTER HE WAS BORN HE HAD DOWN SYNDROME I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK..I WAS NUMB..I WAS CRYING ..I COULDNT BELEIVE THIS WAS HAPPENING TO ME I WAS ONLY 19.. WHEN I HELD HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME I DIDNT SEE DOWN SYNDROME I SAW A BEATIFUL LITTLE BABY..I DIDNT BELIEVE THEM..I WOULD STARE AT HIM FOR HOURS WONDERING HOW 1 EXTRA CHROMOSONE COULD DO THIS..WHAT IS GONIG TO BE LIKE..LET ME TELL YOU HELL BE 6 IN MARCH AND HES GREAT I WOULDNT CHANGE HIM FOR ANYTHING.HE CARING..FUNNY..AND EVERYONE HE MEETS FALLS IN LOVE WITH HIM...YOU JUST GOT TO TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME...ANNIE
