My daughter is only 8 weeks old, but she has been congested since we brought her home at 1 week old. I have asked the pedi twice about it, as we are constantly suctioning her (and getting stuff out versus getting nothing). The first time, he kind of blew it off as a cold and the second time, yesterday, he said they often see it in babies during the winter...and he offered no solutions.
WELL I'M NOT SATISFIED. So...I'm going to schedule an appointment with an ENT (I don't need a referral with my insurance). I have been told an ENT is a good person to have on your medical team anyway, so even if I'm just going to establish her as a patient, I don't care. I will see what he says about it. A few people on this board (I've posted about this before) have mentioned their kids were put on Zyrtec for allergies and it cleared right up. But the "gunk" makes it sound like you have more than allergies going on. Long story short...go for the ENT...it can't hurt!!
