Well, as you would expect, life is busy with 7 kids. Today my husband is back to work, my parents have returned home and I am trying to get life back to normal. (although there is nothing normal about having seven kids with the oldest 10).

I am really fortunate that Sienna is an easy baby. She is not yet three weeks old and last night I fed her at 9pm and she slept until 4:45am- not bad, hey! Gianna has been intensely jealous, but is starting to improve- the scratch on Sienna's forehead is healing!! I am finding it hard to put as much time into Gianna as she needs, although I guess we will get some kind of routine going. This year we have weekly early intervention and speech therapy, and fortnightly hydrotherapy. Thankfully I am still entitled to receive "in-home childcare" which means that the wonderful woman who has been coming to our home for 22hours a week for the last 2 years will continue with hours adjusted to suit our needs. Yippee! She is a wonderful woman who will sit on the floor for hours playing cars with the boys, do baths, homework, and just take over when I have to go out to appointments or soccer training etc. (all govt. funded).

As for Gianna's progress, we have had a whole summer with no colds so Gianna has been able to hear for the last 3 months and her language has come on really well. She is into constant mischief, and loves to climb which causes lots of stress. She eats everything she can find, and I have to sneak the other kids treats when she isn't watching just to keep her weight under control! Gianna loves her sister, although I am sure she DID know that Sienna was in the pram when she climbed in yesterday and SAT on Sienna's head!!

Thats life in the Moore house!! Constant and chaotic!! I don't have the time to post very much but read everyone elses posts each day while I am feeding the baby.

Nicola, it's all wonderful to hear!! You're quite an amazing Mother! Gianna sounds like she's doing so well and you're so lucky to have an easy baby, you certainly deserve it.

Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your world of 7.

Do you have a really LOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG van? I often wonder HOW you fit all those people in 1 vehicle. We have enough problems with the 6 of us, especially if the girls want to bring friends along somewhere. My husband's grandmother had 10 kids, and I wonder how they EVER went anywhere with the whole family as they had a pick up truck as their only transportation. I guess there weren't seatbelt laws and the older ones held the babies on their lap in the back. How times have changed. You're girls are adorable. Vonda

Just reading about your life tuckers me out! It's great that you get domestic help (I want to move to Austrailia!)Sounds like your helper is a wonderful lady! The girls are lovely. Gianna will settle in to her role as big sister (a gentle one!)....it will just take some time. Sounds like she is doing great though!

So great to hear from you! Sienna is so cute! I could not imagine 7 kids!! I have 6 brothers and sisters, but that includes steps and halfs, and 2 of them didn't live with us and I know our house was pretty crazy growing up, especially when we were all together! I often how my parents didn't go insane! Sounds like you're guys are doing pretty good!

Vonda,

I drive a Tarago- 8 seater, which means that we no longer fit!! My husband has a company car so we just take two cars everywhere, although it is becoming less and less that we are all going in the same direction at the same time. At least with two cars we can split up the kids that are most likely to fight with each other!! Atleast I can still fit all the kids into my car to take the four older ones to school.

You sound like a patient, loving mom. I'm impressed. I'm so glad you have help with the children.
The pictures are adorable. Love that red hair.
You know, we seem to have a lot of redheads on this site.

I love those pictures. Brendan did a great job that picture!
You must have lots and lots of patients to be sane with 7 kids!
Just like you are doing very well.

You are an amazing Mommy! But I need to ask, what's a pram? Your babies are beautiful.

Shaye,

A pram is a stroller, or pushchair for the pommes amongst us!

Nicola,
Wow, you do have your hands full. It would be great to see a picture with ALL 7 kids. That is if you can get them all in one place at one time. Sienna is beautiful and Gianna has grown so much. Still love that red hair.
Take care, and relax when you can. You are a super mom!
