This is more of a funny story than a brag but I didn't know where else to put it.
Whenever I've had a new baby I always read to the older ones when I was feeding the little one so the older ones didn't feel neglected. That way they always looked forward to mom sitting down with the baby instead of getting jealous. In order for this to work the kids had to hold the book and turn the pages since I was holding the baby. To let them know it was time to turn the page I'd say "Beep!" (This comes from the old filmstrips we used to have in grade school that had an accompanying audio tape with a loud "Beep!" when you were supposed to advance the filmstrip.) I can't even remember the last time I did this since Paul has been holding his own bottle for a long time so I don't really sit down with him anymore. But John breastfed for 15 months so he heard the "Beep!" A LOT! This morning he was sitting in a chair looking at a book with his sister Jane. He was babbling as though he was reading and then he'd say really loud, "BEE!" and get mad if she didn't immediately turn the page! They looked at a whole book this way. Very cute!!! (By the way, check out the head of hair on my kid!!!)
