Calgon , take me away!!!!!!
I have had 5 with strep throat, 2 of those had scarlet fever also and 1 of the other 3 had that hand foot and mouth disease. You say how in the world did your kids get all that. Well, the youngest one started day care for early intervention 1 and 1/2 weeks before they all started with this stuff. the daycare sent a note home saying they had a case of the hand foot and mouth stuff in his room. Then when Caycie got it and not him the doctor said he could still be a carrier and not have it. Great huh?
It has not been a happy place around here for the last week. Caycie is laying by my feet crying right now. She just wants to be held all the time. I think I may run away from home. lol.
I guess at least they didn't spread it out over several weeks. And thank goodness, no one has had to be in the hospital with it. And I haven't had it. Praise the Lord. That would be awful until they all get better.

Oh my, no strep throat in our house, but I am feeling great sympathy for you. All I can say is "Lysol", hopefully you can kill those bugs and keep them from making a second round in the house. Don't forget to run all the toothbrushes in the house through the dishwasher or replace them.

I don't remember what foot in mouth is, but it sounds bad to me. Thankfully I don't have anyone in daycare or preschool at our house. I know these places are little petri dishes for germs.

We are doing the lysol. My kids are complaining about how bad it stinks, cause I'm spraying it all the time. I had forgotten about the toothbrushes, Thanks, and I just replaced everyones the week before.

We're finishing our second round of strep.

In Grace's first winter she's had strep twice, 3 ear infections, a stomach bug, and something upper respiratory right now. Her heart is well repaired because there's been no crisis in that area in spite of all this illness.

I'm considering the strep to be a blessing because in one of our visits my pediatrician discovered a serious kidney condition in my 8-year-old before permanent damage occurred.

Spring can't come too soon.

I'm sorry sickness has hit your house. At least you are getting it over and done with quick. It can be so exhausting when trying to mind sick ones.

I have had sickness on and off for about four weeks now. First Robert got sick, then my childminder, then Hannah, then Robert again, then me, then my hubbie. Like a ping pong ball, we all got something or other. I'm still waiting for my hearing to return in my right ear. Other than that we are all fine now.

I hope you manage to get the ordinary rythm back into your family life. At least you are feeling fine.....

I am sorry that so many of you are having the same thin. But I am glad that now I don't feel so much like I'm not doing something right. I was afraid my house is a germ incubator or something.
I am so ready for spring too.
With having so many little ones, we've had a few rounds with different things this winter. And of course, Chloe is just an ear infection waiting to happen. When we do go to the doctor and she says, no ear infection, I just shout for joy.
Hope all your little guys are feeling better soon.

Last spring we had strep run through our house twice. All of us got it. It was awful. During the second bout there was a big storm and our power went out for four days. No fun at all. And it wasn't just strep last year, it was EVERY opportunistic bug in the city. We were definitely germ magnets! Since then we've become germ FREAKS and use hand sanitizer like water. It's made a huge difference.

Oh, and when you're replacing those tooth brushes, consider buying everyone their own tube of tooth paste. We started doing that last year after our second round of strep. The kids each get to pick what they want and it makes me feel better knowing we're not exchanging germs every time we brush our teeth.

That toothpaste idea is great. All this germ exchange makes me feel like we're unclean.

Yup strep here too!!

Two kids got it and me. My daughter had to have four baby teeth pulled on Monday and on Wednesday she got Strep. My son was in the hospital over night on the Tuesday because the strep dehydrated him. By Friday I had it.

Fun Fun Fun

Have to agree with Vonda.......can't wait until spring.
