HELP !!! I have never had to deal with this before. Austin hates socks and as soon as I put them on, he's pulling them off. And if he can't reach hs feet, he screams until he can or you take them off of him. Not good now that the weather is so cold outside. Do any of you have any advice. Oh and he also hates his footy jammies. ugh.

good luck with that!
micah man's pt suggested that when he pulls them off to put them on his hands...she had a girl who hated them on her hands so much that she would leave them on her feet.
maybe that'll work for you, i tried putting socks on his hands (b/c i had an extra pair that he had pulled off) and he STILL pulled off the pair on his feet while having the ones on his hands! my little stinker!

Mark does the same thing - drives me crazy - when I take him somewhere he is totally bundled up with a hat and heavy coat and then BARE FEET - people probably think I am crazy! I did finally buy some socks that were tighter around the ankle and were harder for him to pull off. He still tries, but has a much harder time. Shoes also help - when I can find both pair!

Sorry to have to tell you this but Nicky is 22 and still takes off his socks and shoes at every opportunity. Cold feet and a bad heart conditions sometimes make for very blue feet ! |
oh my. I even tried putting on the warmer girls stockings and that really ticed him off. Well I guess I'll have to deal with it then and just try to keep the little feet warm whne it's cold out. ugh.

Heehheee. Good luck with that. We deal w/ the no socks on here too. What I did last year when it was really cold is i'd put her in tights, warm, fuzzy tights, then socks. Took her longer to get them off.
It has gotten better this year. She can actually wear shoes now so that does help. She can't get the double knots undone

I put Robeez over socks when my son was 1-2 yrs old. He didn't have the dexterity to get them off. No good answers here for over that age range. Mine is 5 spends most days sockless, and it's COLD here in MN. He doesn't seem to mind. I blame it on my husband who removes his socks the minute he walks in the door.

McKayla will keep her socks on if i have her boots on her. she hasn't figured out how to get the boots off yet. When she has her little dress shoes on they stay on for about 5 mins then she is chewing on them.

I also put Robeez on Ali over her socks, and she can't get them off. I give her a little while each day to go barefoot in the house because she loves it so much, but it's too cold to do that for long!

Mikey takes off his shoes and socks as soon as he can. He does wear them at school but as soon as he is home, off they go. But if that is how he is comfortable then I am fine with it. At least he's less likely to slip on the floor.

My Caleb is our sock monster. He hasn't figured out how to take his shoes off yet so as long as they are on his socks are on. As soon as the shoes come off the socks come off and into his mouth. He LOVES chewing on socks. He'll even steal his brothers off his feet if he loses the ones he was chewing on....lol

No socks for Henry either. Shoes help, but none of us wear shoes at home. If I really want something to stay on his feet I put him in cotton tights. So far he isn't taking his clothes off, so the tights stay on.

I will join the crowd of "if you figure it out, let me know!" crowd. Ethan's socks come off and directly into his mouth, where he will chew on them until they are nice and sloppy wet, THEN he will fling them around and chew on them some more. But, he won't chew food...Grrrr.

Plain, cotton tights have been our answer. They are nice and warm too!

Ethan's another one for not keeping socks on ( he has a draw full of odd socks ) I've lost count how often Ethan has left the house with both socks on yet by the time we get home, one or both are long gone!!!! I had to laugh the other day as when picking Georgia up from school, there in a pile of leaves near the school gate, were one and half pairs of Ethan's lost socks
I'm loving that it's cold outside at the moment as we have the cosytoes on his stroller so Ethan can't reach his feet!!!!! Although once at home he can't wait to pull off, chew and hide a sock somewhere that I can't seem to find His poor little feet are so cold and a not very nice shade of blue at the moment so he really needs to keep his socks ON!!!!
The only thing to keep them on are his new boots (LOL he's already desperately trying to work out how to take them off )
