I am so so pleased to announce...

that we have now been chosen to be the family of a very special baby boy with DS!

I had posted about him some weeks ago at the Questions board, well, the social workers visited us and have decided to go with our family. We still have to go through matching panel (approval commitee, but they are very unlikely to say no after the social workers and their manager have said yes,) which is scheduled for late March, so our Little Guy will join us in early April, just in time for Easter... How special...

Little Guy is 3 months old now, but he was born 2 months premature... But his birth mum thinks that the due date she was given was too late, and that she was further along. She thinks he was measuring small because of the DS. We don't care, we love him however old he is!

We haven't told the kids about him yet (because I think that it will be difficult to understand WHY it's taking so long for him to join us, since we found him...) They do know we are LOOKING for their baby brother.

Matilda woke up today and said she had a dream, that her baby brother was here. I am so happy and excited to finally (almost) be an official member of this group!

Congratulations on your new baby boy Mathilda. I pray that the rest of the process will go smoothly! Will this be almost like "being pregnant"? Do you have a name for him yet?

Thanks everyone! Very Happy

I'm not allowed to share photos of him until it's "official," but he's cute... A little blondie baldie. That said, (although we were shown more photos of him when the social workers were visiting us,) they only emailed us 2 photos of him, and they're both cr@p. In one he's bundled up in a snow suit and you can only see about half of his face, and his eyes are closed anyway, and in the other, he'd just spit up and he's covered in sick. (seriously!)

We're thinking of names atm, we'll keep the name his birth family gave him as a middle name, but for a first name we're thinking maybe Edward (nn Teddy,) Nicholas or Samuel. Not sure yet...
