I'm wondering how to protect Ali's bare knees when she's crawling around now that it's warm. The babylegs are cute, but I was just wondering if anyone else has ever tried them?

YES! In fact, we (a very loose "we", meaning my mom) made some for Piper out of toddler knee highs before she was big enough to fit into the official Baby Legs. I used them a lot during the winter to add a layer under her pants, or for therapy when they really wanted to see her move (she was so teeny that they couldn't find her in pants, grin) and it was too cold for her to go in just a onesie. They are WARM; I'm not sure if they'd really be any cooler than pants or something because they're up against the skin (at least with pants, you get air movement). But I do think they are significantly easier for them to move around in because there aren't any baggy legs to get caught up in. Piper's ankles aren't big enough to keep them on, so we just use little leather slippers, like Robeez, to keep them on her legs (mind you, she only weighs about 12 1/2 pounds, so she's not a great judge on size...). You can get them on clearance from the company's website, too. They also occasionally have them on deal-a-day sites like babysteals.com and mamabargains.com, but you have to keep an eye out for them and order quick, because they usually sell out fast. I do really like them, and I do think they promote movement better than pants. I just wouldn't assume that they're cooler! Smile

When Austin is outside, he won't crawl. He'll do the bear walk, but the baby legs sound cool. I bet they'd work great.

When Jaret was little, we modified a pair of Jeff's socks and used them as knee pads. Worked perfectly! The little legwarmers are SOOOO cute, but I do think they'd be HOT in the summer....

Bethany's online boutique carries the Baby Legs (http://www.thepolkadotplatypus.com/category/Leg-Warmers/c253)

We used them on Ethan in the winter under his pants for extra warmth and loved them.

Ali does the bear walk when she has bare knees in the house, too, which is what got me thinking about it! I like Janet's homemade knee pad idea!

Love the idea of baby leg warmers.............do you think they do something similar for butt skooters?........I could do with something for the seat of Ethan's trousers to stop him getting so many holes in them Laughing Laughing
