We have a new baby in my town who was just born at 24 weeks with Down Syndrome. She weighs just about 1.5 lbs and is very ill. She has two defects that will require surgery when she gets
bigger--a blockage in her small intestine and a double hole in her heart. The biggest issue for her right now is her heart--whether she will reach operable size before her heart begins to fail. Could you all add her in your prayers. It will be a long road for this family. Thank you so much.

Her name is Genevieve.

Her mommy got to hold her for 2 hours yesterday. They told her only for a few minutes, but she did so well, they let her be held longer. Nothing better than the power of mommys touch.

This sweet little baby and family really needs more prayers.

She was doing great..gaining the weight she needed for her belly surgery and all at once when the surgery was scheduled, she came down with a real bad infection in her kidneys. She has been being treated for I do believe over 2 weeks now and it's not getting any better. She is so very ill, but she is holding on with all her little strength. The doc's keep asking her mommy how much more does the family want them to do to keep her alive. ( to me I feel the doc's just want to give up ) and this family just doesn't know what to do. When ever the mommy talks to her she will open her eyes, but mommy is the only one she will for. Please, please say many more prayers for this sweet baby who clearly wants to get to know her mommy and family. She has 6 siblings waiting for her at home to run and play with. Thank you all so very much.
