Well. I had my first chemo yesterday. It hit me pretty hard but I am hoping for the effects to subside quickly. I am on a LOT of anti nausea medication but have only managed 3 bites of a piece of toast since lunch yesterday.
Funny, I feel exactly like I would imagine feeling if I was poisoned - which is effectively what chemo is. All the vials have the word "cytotoxic" on them.
The oncologist had a chat to me about the lesions they found on my liver. No one knows what they are at the moment. I am hoping and praying they are nothing serious. The oncologist decided to go ahead with the treatment as if they aren't cancer and will send me for a CAT scan in a month's time to check everything.
The other option was a more gentle chemo regime but I felt better about hitting everything hard to start with and deal with anything else down the track.
So your prayers that the liver lesions are benign would be much appreciated and also that I cope with the chemo and ultimately that I am totally healed
Thank you all!!

Karyn
Was just about to pm you! Thank God your first session was managable. I remember Lou leaving the hospital with a big bag of anti sickness drugs....they worked a treat.
Lou went down about a day after getting the chemo/ herceptron, was tired for about four/ five days and then she went back up and life went back to normal. Praying it will be the same for you.
You'll get the strength and courage to get through this......I wish I could hold your hand, big hugs to you....Well done!
How many cycle of chemo are you scheduled to get?

Continued prayers and good wishes for the treatment Karyn. My Dad is going through the same thing at the moment and I think he's been very unlucky with side effects so I'm going to hope that you aren't!

Continued thoughts and prayers! Praying specifically that the liver lesions are benign and harmless, that you handle the chemo well, and that you are fully cured and kick cancer butt.
