Congratulations! Smile Smile very exciting.

I'm sure Briar will be a great big brother, if you give him little jobs to do like fetching diapers, wipes and stuff like that he will feel included and also make sure that he has daddy & mommy time as well.

I'm sure there's lots of books out there for preparing siblings for a new baby but I don't have any recommendations, sorry.

AWESOME NEWS!

I have a few suggestions......

COlin loves his anotomacaly correct dolls that pee and cry.... we really used them (we have both) to desensitize the kids because there was a lot of time between Miranda and Jordan and they got bigger.

We also thought we might have issues with Devon.

I borrowed one of th "live" babies from the his through the special ed friend there to help Devon and we played and took care of it like a real one over thanks giving weekend befor I was due with Emerson......

Came to learn Devon ignored babies......

Colin is my best helper though some of the others are harder than you might like..... but not him.

I also have my swimgs screwed to ground so they can not trip and knock over and a few of the other seats.....

Have to watch in car they do not unlatch the seat too.... cause I can not see ....so I have to check it a lot......

And again congrats!

Thanks! The baby doll idea is a great one! My only fear is that he might be too ruff with it or that it will get on his nerves! I really hope this does not stress him out too much. Untill just recently he was scared of babies, we had a friend over with a baby and Briar just wanted to touch his belly! It was cute. He keeps kissing my stomach, so sweet.

BIG Scottish hugs, that is so sad. I think our kids with DS are acutely aware of bereavement and loss for reasons that escape me, maybe they have a double dose of empathy on that extra chromosome, so please do remember to keep the lines of communication open with Briar, however painful it might seem.
