Hi All, I have been looking at hip helpers for erin as she is currently doing the splits thing to get up from her tummy to sitting.... I live in the UK and they want to charge me $15 + $30 for delivery! Does it really cost that much to get something sent over from the US or is this company taking the mick?
Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK where I can buy them or does anyone have some that they would like to sell me??

I made my own! With the help of my PT. I just made a lycra tube that narrowed at one end. It went from her waist down to her knees, tight but not too tight, then I sewed up the middle where her legs would go to make them like shorts. I would advice doing it under the direction of the PT, my originals were too short, and didn't cover the knees, and for Paige, this was important.
It only took like 20 minutes to make, and did the job!

hi I just came across this post , Im sure you have them now but was just going to ask where i the uk you are ? because my physio measures Rebekah every few months for a pair of special fabric cycle shorts to keep her hip joints tighter as she has so much movement in her joints that she cant work them right, and this is free of charge and specialy fitted to her size , always worth asking for a pair from your doc or physio if you have one and if not get a refferel to one andit will save you some money and they really help

Hi there, we're in the uk too and Grace is doing the splits all the time, getting from sitting to lying down and visa versa. Although her physio has said its not the correct way of doing it, no one has mentioned anything about these hip helpers?? What do they do and are they necessary. Thanks Cheryl

I got some for Abby last month and they have been helpful although I don't put them on her all that much because I keep forgetting about them! They are just lycra shorts with the legs sewn together to keep their legs together. Talk to your Grace's PT about them!

Paige did the same thing. The hip helpers (homemade version!) really helped.
