Ok I wanted to get off some Ds things for awhile and ask everyone, If money was no expense and you could go anywhere you wanted (NO KIDS) for a week where would you go any why?
For me it would be Ireland, I am part Irish so I could say because of the heritage thing etc... But the real reason is the Churches, the Castles and the beautiful hillsides. I have always been mezmorized with the pictures I have seen and so bad just want to go with no schedules, no plans and just do what I want to do and when I want to do it.
Where's your fantasy place??
Elizabeth

1> Orbit the Earth in the Shuttle.
2> Lake Powell with my friends on a houseboat and all the toys - jetskis, skiboat. Relaxation. Nights under the stars with great wine and conversation, then snoring.
Beer and chocolate cake for breakfast if you want. No shoes.

Hmm - that's a tough one! I think I would like to take a trip on a cruise ship destination ANYWHERE! Just feed me, pamper me, entertain me! Spa treatments every day! Yes, yes, yes! My trip would probably be very short as I'd be worried sick about my kids, so maybe it would have to be one of those "Disney" cruises so I could bring 'em along.

Italy, particularly Tuscany, but I would need longer than a week!
New Orleans at Mardi Gras
There are others I am sure but those 2 are always top of my list!

Actually, I always thought it would be fun to tell everyone that my husband and I were going away and send the kids to their grandparents and then just secretly STAY HOME. We'd sleep when we wanted to sleep for as long as we wanted with NO interruptions, eat when we wanted to eat with no sharing and no Dorito's floating in my drink. We'd turn off the phone, watch some filth on TV, have a few drinks, and have to answer to NO ONE. Pure heaven. But for only a week, as I'd miss those Dorito's floating in my drink terribly!!!
Oh and Jeff, could my husband POSSIBLY go with you on your orbit around the Earth, he's talked about that for YEARS!!! Vonda

I agree with Veronika... a Spa treatment, although I only want one day. I always feel so guilty being away from my kids, but at the same time I feel bad for neglecting myself. I don't get anytime to relax and do what I want. WHO AM I?

I had a girlie weekend last weekend-met up with an old school friend, went shopping and then spent the evening at her parents' house, being very spoilt with fine wines and good food, grown up conversations, no interruptions, the works!-we both had left our 2 boys with their Dads-it was bliss!! But I felt guilty as I didn't miss the boys while I was there, but was soooo pleased to see them when I got home.....how silly!
I still reckon Italy would be the place-with the same friend and her parents!

Actually my husband and I did do that this summer. We went on vacation for a week and left the kids with my sister. It was great, no fighting or argueing on the drive. You won't believe how early we went to bed and how early we got up.
Did alot of fishing, and sight seeing. I felt guilty only once, and thought of the kids alot. But all of us need to get away once in awhile. Next summer we are taking the kids. We went with our best friends. Kinda sounds like Emdads lake trip.

Well I have to say I am a beach person. I would want to be a on a beach somewhere tropical. With crystal clear water, and hamocks hanging from the palm trees. Cabana boys bringing us our drinks. Ahhh, I can smell the sea and suntan lotion already. Of course, I am one up on all of you. Manny and I have no kids living at home. So we are on vacation every day..ha ha...NOT
and Jeff...Manny will join you and Vonda's husband on that orbit, but it scares me to death.

I am a sucker for crusies. I would love to take a week cruise to nowhere (gambling, drinking, eating, relaxing) that ends up in Figi, (which of course means the crusie probably would start around Australia) where I could spend another week and then take a private jet back home so I could rest up before reality kicked in. I would need to bring Marty though. I am a pathetic Mom who would think about him the whole time , but I would bring my sister to babysit. I think that would be worth the trip to her. I will keep dreaming though. I can guarantee my husband would not be to keen on this idea, so I would have to leave him at home!
