I live in the KC metro area. I am about 20-30 minutes away from crown center. I don't really know the whole area there very well at all. Been there several times but that's it.
I did a search for "crown center hotels near" and got this...
http://www.hotels-rates.com/hotels/locations/Kansas_City/MO/usa/276/
It has 2 hotels .7 miles away from crown center. I don't know if that helps anyone but they did have rooms available looking at the website.
Let me know if I can try and do anything for anybody.

I may ask Yuko if she can see any good hotels by crown center while she is at the hospital with Mia. There are very close together.

While they are at the hospital they are next to crown center. However in August she should not be there. Mia is almost done with her treatments. They live about 1 1/2 hours away. I'm not sure if she is coming for the convention or not but I bet she would love to meet so many of you!

I emailed the guild- our local support group and asked for suggestions about hotels for people still needing rooms. This is what I got....

Jenny-

The Westin and Hyatt are completely out of rooms. There is a Marriott Residence Inn up the street from Crown Center and a Marriott Fairfield Inn close by but I think those are full also. The Intercontinental Hotel on the Plaza has (could be fully booked by now?) rooms blocked for the NDSC, you can have them check there.

The President, Marriott and Ramada downtown by the convention center are all full due to a massive convention in town so those are out. I do have some families that are staying out by the KCI airport and driving in 20 minutes each way to the convention. If they are interested in those hotels I have a few emails with contact links I can send you. Just let me know.

I have a room reserved, that due to the fact that we are moving, I will not be able to use. If someone can use it, pm me, before I cancel it. Di
