With kindergarten starting soon, I keep telling myself, I can do this, I can do this....... so, I have a question. Did you all send a special letter to the special ed. teacher as well as the reg. ed teacher ? If so, what things , other than personal info, did you let them know about ?? Thanks so much for your help !! Natalie

I have a great booklet that I got from A (Russell's mom) called "All About Me" from the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City. It's in PDF format so I can email it to you if you want to print it out.

We have open house before school actually starts and I try to take care of things there. However I usually end up in tears cause I HATE sending my baby to school. Is your child going to have a aid? My son has had an aid and most of the important stuff I tell her cause she will more likely remember it better than the teacher will.
Letters are good too. If it makes you feel better I would go for it.
The special ed teacher did not work with Briar during kindergarten so I hardly ever talked to her.

Thanks Ecki, that would be great ! I sent you my e mail address. Our open house is a few days before school starts. No, Lily will not have an aide, pulled out for resource, a couple times a day. I know I will cry and it will be crazy for the teacher, so I thought I would leave her a note and now a booklet. Natalie

Hmmm, I didn't get the email. But if you, or anyone else wants to download it, I put it online here:

Thank you so much. I will download and print it out. I actually asked a kindergarten teacher today about it and she said she would love to have something like that. I don't know what went wrong, I probably did something. I am not very good with the computer. After 5 years of beinga member, I still cannot post pictures ! Natalie

Yay...thanks for the link...i was going to post about this as I somehow misplaced my original copy. I think it will definitely help Kennedy's new teacher(s) understand her right from the beginning.
