My mother, who is 85, is very sick. She has congestive heart failure and has had a series of little strokes which have made her blind. She is clearly failing. Her doctor actually made a housecall yesterday and has recommended that she have 24 hour pallitative care. This morning I got the second call of the week saying she was having a "cardiac event". She lives about 6 hours away from me and I have been up to see her 5 times in recent months, with her much more debilitated on each visit. Thankfully I have 6 siblings within a half hour of her so she is getting a lot of family visits (she lives in an assisted living facility). Please pray that if it is her time, that she goes painfree.

Oh Mary....

So sorry about your mother!! It is really hard to watch a loved one fail, but there is nothing quite like watching your mother.... Crying or Very sad

I am so sorry about your mom. It is very hard to watch the people you care about go down hill. I pray that she will get better and have lots more happy years ahead of her. 85 is getting younger and younger with each birthday I have. Shocked

I belatedly want to thank everyone for your prayers. I've been away for the last week with horrible internet connections so haven't had a chance to thank you all. My mom's condition is still about the same and she is sleeping most of the time. We haven't been able to arrange for nighttime care yet(it will start on Monday), so my siblings are taking turns sleeping on the couch at her apartment.

I told her that I was praying for her and that I had asked you to pray for her as well. She was so touched and grateful and found it hard to believe that my cyber friends would do that for her. It has given her great comfort and I really appreciate it.
