Re: Heart Surgery
by Jay and Tuscan Today at 9:43
oh thankyou so much everyone. Your prayer have been wonderful! I think we must have had 1000 people praying for us world wide! It went so well and his recovery too! He came off the respirator after 2 days as his chest was a tad cloudy! He then went to the ward and everyday got better and better!
Before his op he was getting tireder and tireder. He was full of smiles still though and lots of personality! Straight after his op he was like a puffy fish that growled like a little lion cub. He kept his eyes shut and just smacked his lips together demanding "BOOB BOOB", but he had to fast! The next few days after that he got less puffy but his need (demands!) for the BOOB increased until the doctors caved in and said ok feed HIM! Phew! The best feeling ever! He was so settled after that! He did however scare us by constantly rolling his eyes into his head and refusing to smile or look at us! We were so scared he had brain damage or some weird 'demon possession' (Just kidding, but he did look "possess" with those eyes rolling all over the place! Not funny at the time!) No one could tell us this was ok or what it meant. They just said it did not appear to be a seizure, which would have possibly indicated brain damage. We had to wait until day 4 before we had a small smile and day 5 before he was like his old self! Now he smiles more, sleeps better, feeds better and crys loader!
So yes we are home. It seems all so surreal now! I just cannot believe it! I watched a little video that tim took yesterday and burst into tears just remembering the experience! In the space of a week he has changed and gone through so many different things.
I cant even think of what else to tell you all. We are over the moon. I am still a little nervous having him home and having nothing HUGE to worry about any more. He has no feeding tube any more so its just boob boob boob - which is great but scary! Getting medication in orally is harder than I thought. He likes to spit, raspberry or dribble them out! I have to give him a bit and then shove the boob in his mouth so he sicks and swallows! Hehe Oh the joys! I would not have it any other way!
Thanks again to all of you for praying, sending well wishes and for supporting us! Your all wonderful!
