Hi everyone
we are new to this site just found it by luck, I am due my 3rd child a boy in may who has DS. we have 2 boys already finn who is 5 and oisin who is 3 they keep us busy...... we found out at almost 7mts that our baby has DS there was fluid on babys lungs and our doc reccomended an animo to see if they could figure out what was the problem.........we had a rough 2 weeks after we got the results but now have ajusted to the news and cant wait to meet our 3rd son. We live in the NY area but both my husband and I are from Dublin , Ireland. I look forward to meeting new friends and getting support on the new journey we are just beginning.

Welcome and congratulations on your impending arrival! I am Kristy, married to John and we have 3 children, Emily 5 1/2, Zack (DS) almost 4 and Ryan 15 months. This site is my other family....we really are a very supportive and caring group. again, welcome and look forward to hearing more about your family.

My husband Luciano and I have just one daughter - Eden, who has DS. She is turning one in about a week - I can hardly believe how fast the year has gone!! She is an absolute joy and we are so blessed! We didn't find out about the DS until after Eden was born so our situation was a little different than yours. But there are quite a few people on the board who found out prenatally.

Looking forward to getting to know more about your family.

thanks to all for the welcome, we have family over at the moment from London who have their 3 boys with them so life is a little crazy at the mo, but will try to check in and post a few photos of my family in the next few weeks .....doc has booked me in for my 3 c-section on may 7th so getting exited Smile

Welcome! My youngest daughter is 18 months and has Ds. This site was such a support for me during those first few months, and continues to be.

Have you read "Gifts: mother's reflect onhow children with Down syndrome enrich their lives." It is a great book to read for a parent dealing with a diagnosis. The greatest part is that many of the contributors are on this forum!

You can find it on AMazon or Barns n Noble

Welcome to this awesome board. My name is Christine and I have 6 children. Ages 16, 13, 10, 5, 3, and almost 7 months. Our 7 month old has DS and he also had fluid around both his lungs. He was in the NICU for 3 weeks with chest tubes to drain it all. And we also live in NY. Thirty minutes South of Syracuse. Where is Yorks? I also can wait to get to know you and your family. hi All
Well as they say a lot can happen in a day! went for a check up today and doc ended up admiting me as fluid is low and babys growth only in the 25% range .................so ended up been there all day worried that I may have section tomorrow because that was a option doc said , am only 34 weeks so really wanna keep the little guy in there as long as possible...and have house full of vistors over from London arrgh...but someone was watching out for me doc sent me home said baby was looking great and hopfully he will grow a little more and fluid will remain stable............so fingers crossed for us . by the way all of the kids in all of your photos are so beautiful and all your welcomes are so much help thank you...............sue Yonkers ,Ny about 10 miles from NYC .
