I'm learning fast to be patient - but I would love a great big smile just so as I know she's happy!
We've had fleeting little smirks, but she seems to concentrating on moving about 'flapping' her arms and legs like mad and vocalising with lots of funny cute little noises, she seems to consider a smile incidental to all this!
When did you LO's smile?
Patience is a virtue, I know
big hugs to all

I think it was about 8 weeks when Ben started. And he would only do it for his daddy!! If she's started little one's now it'll not be long untill she starts with the big cheesy grins!

We had to wait FOREVER!!! I was sure there was something wrong, but Ali finally started really smiling at about 5 or 6 months old.

Blake finally started giving little grins around 2.5 months old, but I'm still waiting for him to laugh!! (10 months) He'll giggle, but no major laughing yet. I too, am learning patience...

Matt was around 8 wks and laughed a week or so later. Patience is something you really will be learning a lot of over the next few months, years, in fact, life time!!!

I've wondered the same thing as well when I noticed other typical babies had great eye contact and smiling at their parents faces between 4-6 weeks, when Ethan wasnt.
He has smiled at about 5 weeks, but it took a lot. He had to be really looking at me while I talked to him and made faces at him. It's only happend about a handful of times since then. And only happend with me... he wont smile for daddy or anyone else =)
My signature pics being one of the few.
Just last night though I was playing with him after he drank his bottle, I kept tickling his mouth with burp cloth and he would just smile away.
So I am hoping I will be getting plenty of smiles from now on... and I wont stop trying to get him to smile!

Austin was about 3 months. And now he doesn't stop smile. Hang in there. Those smiles will come and then you'll melt all over again.

Gee I love that hair!!!! What a sweetie. I was looking forward to the smiles too! I found that if I get close to Sawyer she smiles alot more. We found out she wasn't seeing far away so that makes sense.
