Robert went to primary main stream school last September with support for an aide.
There are 27 other boys in the class with him. He is doing better than we could ever have hoped.
To day he went to his friend Adams 5th Birthday Party. It was the first official party invite he's had! It was held at a fun and fitness place. Your know the kind...play first then food and cake!
I must admit I was a bit anxious.....hoping he'd have fun and he'd be able for the two hours of play! The place was very noisy and there were loads of parties going on at the same time!
But that was no problem to Robert.....he saw the balls and he was off!
I was truly amazed at how well he did at the play, the food and finally leaving.
I could also see other moms looking at how well Robert was doing!
I was so surprised at how like his peer he is....just a wee boy having fun at at party!
Since Robert was born I worried if he'd ever be invited to a birthday party!
And to my delight that day has come and gone for him.
I am so grateful to Adam and his folks for inviting Robert to be a part of Adams birthday!

Thats great that Robert was treated normal like the other kids. And it was nice of the parent to not shy away from him because of his DS. Here's to many more party invites!

That's great! I'm so happy Robert had a good time. I'm sure he will have a great time at many more parties to come.
I must admit that I fear Henry will never be invited for a play date (other than a DS playgroup) or a party. Your post makes me a little more optimistic.
