crawling and sitting

My girl is almost 11 month old now and we all time do the therapy, baby yoga etc, I just dont see that she would even try to sitting or crawling. She is active and can roll very fast, but when it comes to crawling she is just not interested. It is the same with sitting, she wont try to move in sitting position:( I know it will take a time, but I do start to worry... Just wondering when other kids started to crawl and sit...

Christopher sat at 8 mo and crawled at 12 mo. He's quite an active boy though! Motivation seems to be key. Try putting favorite toys just out of reach in such a place that she has to sit or crawl to get them, then help her go through the motions of how to do so. She'll catch on!

Kyle is 8 months old and isn't close to sitting, forget about crawling! He's still not a solid 90 degree head raise while on his tummy! All kids are different. I think the important thing is if you are seeing improvement, no matter how small. I have a neice who is a happy, smart, typical 12 year old girl. She never crawled, ever. She started sitting at about 8 months old and was just happy and content as could be sitting. No kind of motivation worked for her. She finally decided to start walking when she was about 2 years old. Her mom actually loved the fact that she didn't have to baby proof for so long!

My husband and I were just talking about this last night. Abby was 8 or 9 months when she was sitting on her own and she was just starting to crawl at 12 months but then got really sick so it was more like 16 months before she really took off. It's really different for everyone. Looking back I wish I wouldn't have stressed about "when" she will do it. She did it on her own time Smile It was also nice to not have to worry about her getting into everything (my 8 month old just started to crawl and I kind of wish he would have waited!!

Noah crawled at 12 months, and didn't sit until a few months later. He got a lot of tummy time, and I'd put toys just out of reach for motivation. I did a lot of playing with him facing me and he was propped up with pillows in the sitting position, he enjoyed that. He hated the table thing the therapist left at my house and he hated the bumbo seat...so that's what we did

I feel like a bad mama because I never wrote down all of Austin's real firsts. Just kind of keet them in my mind in hopes I'd remember, but sad enough I really can't. Austin was not a year yet before he started to really sit on his own. I'd say maybe around 10 months and started really crawling just over a year. Remember, every child is different and it will come in time. And it will just happen. One day they will just be laying there and bam the next they are up and going. Very Happy
