We had our six month recheck with Ali's cardiologist today. Last appointment, I brought Baby Signing Time, and she happily watched the DVD and pretty much ignored the echocardiogram tech the whole time. Today we arrived armed with our videos, but their DVD player was BROKEN!! Shocked It quickly became one long screamfest and Daddy had to come hold her down Sad Luckily, there was some good news at the end of all this! The cardiologist said that the VSD left after her surgery had closed, and despite a little bit of residual leaking from the valves, everything looks great! Then he said those magic words: "I'll see you in a year" ! Very Happy

Great news. So glad all is well. Sorry to hear her DVD was broke and that she wasn't happy, but a year....awesome.

Ah - now that's a good thing to hear. I'm glad it was a good report. Smile

I'll take a screaming kid anyday if the news is 'see you in a year'. It's been 5 years since Daniel's surgery...and each year, I still get so anxious for every followup. Please pray we hear those words next week after our yearly visit!!

Those words are music to a mama's ears! Thanks for sharing such wonderful news!

I hear ya about the DVD's. We ended up investing in a portable DVD player and it has been an absolute life-saver for us.

Maresa - So glad to hear the good news! I've been there with the screaming child through the echo - not fun at all and it's takes so long!! Uggh!! Worth it, though, to find out the vsd had closed!!

We just got one recently, too, and just LOVE it, but of course I left it home that day because I assumed we could use theirs! Confused
