It's called petechiae
petechia is a small (1-2mm) red or purple spot on the body, caused by a minor hemorrhage (broken capillary blood vessels)
This can be totally benign... lots of crying will cause it.
Or... it can be extremely serious. A sign of low platelet count. If it's around the eyes.. probably no big deal. but if it's on the chest, arms, legs.. I'd take your baby to see the doctor. Quickly! Especially if they've been sick.
Let us know how it goes.

Yes, petechiae. Lots of kids will get it after crying and it often accompanies a virus. If you're able to identify a cause, don't worry about it. If it appears out of nowhere or shows up unexpectedly, go to the pediatrician for a CBC (complete blood count).
Sounds like nothing to worry about in your case!

a methyl b12 in our kids can help that. Noah used to get them ALL the time, now we rarely see it. The only difference, is the supplement. Our kids tend to be B12 deficient.

B12 doesn't hurt them. Some dr's say no need, but it won't hurt, but Noah's dr's can tell you they see a difference...mainly the lack of petachaie he has when he comes in.
