Those whose kids wear glasses, which ones do you use? I see that many swear by Specs4us and in my opinion, from what i read on blogs, there service s also very good!
Kallen is far -sighted and his script is a +2. We got him a cute well fitting pair, but it only fits well at the offices, because if he wears it for a little while, it slides down his nose! I'm considering to order a pair, but we don't have a supplier in South Africa, so all the extra costs is on me. Do you think it will be worth the effort?

Ok, Asher got THE COOLEST glasses!!! Angela has worn specs4us for several years and I hate them. They bend out of shape easy, and the nose pieces are forever falling off and needing to be replaced.

But Asher got these glasses by CentroStyle. The back side of them is rubber so they don't slide around, then they have an adjustable ear pieces so you don't have to worry about bow length. I wish I'd known about these when Angela was little. We absolutely LOVE them!!!! The main picture on the website shows you the adjustable thingy.

This page shows you the rubber on the back side of them which adds flexibility without bending out of shape AND stops them from sliding around on the face. This is especially good for Asher who is a big sweater.

I will never again buy a pair of wire rimmed glasses for John. The little nose pads get squished and the bows get stretched. With the last pair he had we were at the glasses place once a week getting them adjusted. Drove me crazy!!! (But we've never tried Specs4Us, so maybe they're different.) Now he only wears plastic frames and we NEVER have any problems (until he takes them off and puts them on the floor to look through binoculars and then steps back on them and breaks them--LOL!).

Danny's first pair was the kind that bent 100 different ways and never broke. Not sure of the name, but you could supposedly crumble them and they wouldn't break. Eventually, they did...but they lasted quite awhile. They also had these rubber hooks on the end that really wrapped around his ears so they didn't fall off.

Now that he is older, he has the cutest glasses (you can see them in my siggy pic). We have had them the entire school year and they only got broke once (mishap on the playground). However, his nasal bridge has gotten bigger over time and when he was smaller, he might not have been able to wear these. They are fine now because his bridge isn't as flat anymore.

Leah, I love Asher's glasses. Did you order online or did they have them at your local optical shop? I want them for Danny.

Lisa, I got them at an optical shop. A friend of Angela's, his dad is an ophthalmologist with an optical shop in his clinic. He had never seen these type of glasses before, now he wants to carry then in his shop because the adjustable bows make them more versatile...or something like that.

We use Specs4Us and really like them . . . but we don't have to pay to have them shipped overseas, either. For us, they've been great.

We tried Specs4Us but they did not work well for us. We found them to be kinda flimsy and they constantly slid down her nose. Now we just got a regular pair of plastic glasses and she wears them with a strap (mostly hidden behind all that hair! LOL). We love them!

We're on our second pair of Solo Bambinis - they're the ones you can crush etc. and they bounce back. "Indestructible toddler frames" is how they were described to us when we got our first pair, and they have lived up to their name.

well.............. our school seems to manage to loose the glasses that are to stay there before they break so I never know how they do..... we just have done the walmart cheap o's and gotten our $$$$ worth with Deovn cause our insurance does nto cover any of the others..... and our medicaid glasses break/broke every time before we made it home..... so we wen with the nicalodean frames with the cables for miranda and the titaninium twitables for COlin and Devon....... and till walmart changed it to replce only once..... Devon (I buy 2 pairs a year ....staggered) and always had one in the shop..... but that is cause he was super super super hard on his glasses...... but he has finally gotten tot he point that he wears at school with out most issue.......

usually we know loose them to sub throw away on lunch trays or they get lost or left on bus never to be seen again!

Thank you everybody for your responses. Unfortunately we don't have the variety that are available n the United states. There are a lot of metal frames but they just slide down and then Kallen look op with his mouth open. It makes him look really really stupid (sorry but no other way to describe) BUT thank you Leah- I was going to say that those glasses are not in South Africa, but when I looked on the site< I found a supplier in my City. There service is also very good and they have already been in contact with Kallen's optometrist. Unfortunately, the ones that Asher is wearing, will be to big for Kallen. The biggest size he can go for, is a 40. I will post a picture when we have the glasses.

abby has these now... had them for over a year (from 7 mo. to 21 mo. - she's actually getting new ones next week bc her prescription changed and these are getting too small.)
They never broke! She has another pair, also by fisher price that did break though but only because i have a strap around the back of that pair and she pulls them really hard.
