Tenex, dosage and such.

We started Melissa on Tenex a month ago. My doctor told me to give her one to two tablets at night. I gave her one ( 1mg) tablet at night the first night. Starting the second day I gave her one tablet during the day. I have been slowly introducing her to this because for the first few days, she would have Melt downs in the afternoon. Now she has been taking it for a month.

I've seen online that I could give her 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the later afternoon. When I give it to her in the morning, she does well at Speech therapy, but I can't say that it really slows her down. As the drug tapers off, she seems to be a lot more hyper. Is this normal? Then she gets cranky as the dose wears off.

I don't want to give her too much, too fast, but I don't know how well this is really working. I'm not seeing huge changes.

Any thoughts? I was wondering if I should up her dose to 1 1/2 tablets and see if that helps.

Also, I was wondering why my doctor would tell me to start her dosing at nights. To be honest, it doesn't make her tired enough to fal asleep. Smile This is Melly we're talking about, here! LOL
