The World Trade Center

I worked at the World Trade Center in New York City for 10 years for Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. Most of that time was spent on the 70th floor of Tower 2. The World Trade Center was one of the greatest places to work.

I was there in 1993 when terrorists tried to destroy the buildings with a car bomb in the basement killing six people and injuring more than 1,000. I was not working there in 2001 when the World Trade Center was destroyed by terrorists.

This was the view from my desk. We are looking east toward Brooklyn.
The closer bridge is the Brooklyn Bridge. The one a little north is the Manhattan Bridge.
One a clear day, you could see planes landing at JFK airport.

This was the view from the office of my boss (Raymond Butler). We are looking north toward Midtown Manhattan.
The building to the left is Tower 1. The water to the left is the Hudson River and the water to the right is the East River.
The Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building are the two largest buildings in the distance.

This was my business card when I worked at the World Trade Center.
The phone numbers no longer work.

After the 1993 terrorist attack, Dean Witter handed out these buttons to show that terrorists were
not going to drive them away or put them out of business. Dean Witter remained in the World Trade Center
until the towers were destroyed in 2001.
