I was on the mobile phone today in LIDL supermarket, arranging a rendevous to pick up a family member from the Cumbernauld bus, and another shopper - a total stranger - heard me saying: "Love you too!"
"Aaah!" she cooed, "true romance is so rare these days!"
I was a bit perplexed, then laughed out loud.
"Romance?" says I. "Thats my teenage son!"
You see, we know something most people don't: people with Downs Syndrome have an extra chromosome, and that means they have a double dose of love and affection. Is that such a bad thing, in such a mean, cruel world run by banksters and crooks? I think not!
