OK- Jane the nuerotic mom that I am- am so convinced Melea's UTI was my fault because she is so hard to wipe clean when she makes a bm. It is like juggling three jumping monkeys and a wet seal---- and she has to be constantly looking at her pubic area yelling out loud "poo" or "ooooyyee" and "urry mami" while jumping around one one foot and I am trying not to let her leave pooy but prints on the wall!
Any suggestions. Since she has realized that she is making something and that is relatively new this has gotten progressively worse. Thank heven she usually pooyes at home and not a school (she is a clock work kind of gal- just like Colin)

That's a hard one. I guess to just make sure you clean her up the minute that she poops, and maybe ask her to try and pee to try and flush out anything that might have gotten in there. But she probably would have already peed. My girls, and I can't even take bubble baths without getting UTI's and if they ever got ahold of the bubbles when I wasn't looking I'd make them pee when they got out just to try to flush any bubbles out. Is she fully potty trained, or still in pull ups? I take it this is when pooping ON the potty and not in the pants, cause that really would be a mess and could cause UTI's.

No we are no where near even thinking about being potty trained. If she does anything in the potty- it is sheer chance (I win the ,ottery $ more often)
She is still in pull ups
Gosh I love boys!!!!!
ps- Adrian today has decided if COlin and Melea wear pull up and don't potty- neither does she!!! URGH!!!!! I hate the potty

ssshhhhhh You don't really see me here, OK? I'm sneaking on my mom's laptop,
OK...little girls with DS and UTI's. My advice? NONe!!! Our ped has assured me that until Angela quits putting her hands in her pants, we're not going to get rid of the UTI's. I'll tell ya what...the minute that kids is in bed, guess where her hands are? The ped said with the "constant manipulation" bacteria is getting moved around, etc.
What about having her hold a roll of toilet paper (for something to keep her hands busy) and say, "two hands need to hold the paper", or something like that.
UGH...what a pain the butt. (no pun intended of course.)
