Could Delphine still be constipated even though she poops each day (usually?). My mom (who is watching her today) just phoned and said she won't eat, and is crying and seems very uncomfortable. Sad She just started to take Prilosec for acid reflux this weekend, and I don't think this would be the cause?

My daughter Abby has constipation, she goes at least once a day sometimes more- they consider them constipated if it is hard not soft, Abby has rock hard kind, so the DS clinic put her on a laxative that she takes daily in her bottle- i have also been told by my Dr. that if she is drinking juice to give the ones that are high in fiber, we have tried feeding prunes, prune juice and currently we are trying to use Nectar- the high fiber kinds, So far the only thing that works is the meds! We wanted to see if we could try a natural way without meds but no luck here i hope you have better luck- you also can try Karo syrup

Polly started on Prilosec an month ago for reflux and then the constipation began. We are trying to manage it naturally. She does the same thing, won't eat, stiffens up and cries. She has gas but it's hard for anything to come. She does go almost every day but it is usually very hard. We did the Karo syrup (dark kind) in her bottle but it didn't always work. Now I am trying to mix her oatmeal with juice. That seems to go better. let me know if you come up with anything else, but I think that Prilosec does constipate.

here is a recent thread concerning constipation that i can't view for whatever reason, but i think i have it linked correctly. (in case you didn't see it)

Janna has been on Prilosec for a very long time but has rarely had any trouble with constipation. we used the Karo when she was little and now that she eats food food, we give her oatmeal with either pears or prunes and also Yo Baby yogurt daily. no rice, no apples, no bananas. she likes rice but not apples or bananas thank goodness.
