Any ideas on how to keep legs from getting stuck
Reply with quote

Carson is managing to get his leg stuck between the slats in his baby bed. He has done this a lot lately and believe me, it makes him very angry. I think he is doing it in his sleep. I have bumper pads up, but he ends up half the time with his foot propped up on a slat sleeping. I guess if it slides down he doesn't have the concept of how to get it out. I need something about the size of the bumper pad that doesn't give when he puts his leg on it. I do want it to be safe though - so I haven't come up with anything. Any ideas on how to avoid it would be greatly appreciated.

Kayla

Happens to us too. Sometimes it even pops Austin's knee out of joint. You just have to hold the foot and twist the knee inward to get it to pop back in ...but very scary. I have no advice...except to say this too shall pass and to commiserate with you.

Kayla and Amy,
Emeline has done this a couple of times, too. I found this Crib Shield System on Amazon by googling "legs stuck baby crib slats" or something like that.
Anyway, I haven't bought it yet, but I thought it looked like something I might get.

Our solution is this .... I don't know if they're available in US, but for cold nights like we have here, they're great, and it means that there are no stray legs hanging out!!!

Here's a link http://www.bumpto3.com/product.aspx?DISPLAYCAT=sleep&CAT=Products&CATGRY=baby_sleeping_bags&PID=AA1125&VID=AA1125

Hannah and Matt sleep in theirs every night, and even Rachael has one when it's really cold.

Thanks for the ideas. I ordered the thing for the bed. I think it is too hot in Louisiana for the thing to keep his legs enclosed. I do have one of those. It was perfect to take him out in when he was first born.
