Blake was born early by 12 days..we had no idea he was ds....would not have mattered.....i had just finished a split shift at the pub and was sitting home at 11pm when sitting on the toilet of all places..my water broke...after much scrambling to get a baby sitter for the boys and ringing the pub to take me off the roster..lol..off to hospital..Blake was born at 6.05am....spent most of his first days in a humidity crib and under lights with serve jauntis...was went home new years eve on corys 3rd birthday.
Blake was 3 months old before we knew of the ds...we thought his heart was fine as no murmer was found..it wasnt till he was flown 120kms to Adelaide with serious pnuemonia that they found the deffect...two major holes and a valve that had to be made into two..
We flew to Melbourne on the 18th sept and he was in surgery on the 21sept....6 days later he was out of hospital and with us...we flew home on the 29thsept.
Blake is doing wonderfully...he has healed up great and is all smiles giggles and blowing his famous rasberries.....
He is a whole new boy and loving it....and back to sleeping 12hrs a night..woohooo...
Rhys who is 5 and a half wanted to take him to show and tell..got to love em..lol..
well thats his story so far..we are trying to get him to sit up ..if anyone has any ideas..much appreciated..
