We received some free samples the other day. I'm assuming a 2 yr old gets 2 scoops???? There weren't any specific written instructions on the dose. I haven't started it yet. Thanks!
Edited to ask - Did you all check with your doctor before giving this? Should I?

I don't know about your Dr., but I would be surprised if many "told" you to use it. I told my ped. that we were using NVD. She doesn't encourage it, but didn't tell us not to. But, she pretty much knew we were doing it one way or the other. Because they do not have the concrete proof in writing that it works I would be surprised if many recommend it.

Rae, ages 2 - 6 is 2 scoops. there's a bit of controversy as to why MSB+ goes by age and not weight, some think the dosage is too low. Also I've heard suggestions to break it up into 2 doses (1 scoop at a time). But I just dump both scoops in Kayla milk when I know she'll drink it all.
I did mention to my dr. when I started. He had no opinion, but said it couldn't hurt. Regular drs seem to fall into 2 camps: those who think it's a bunch of hogwash and those who have no opinion. I don't think I've really heard of many traditional drs endorsing TNI.

Like Kayla's stating, as long as there aren't any sound proof it's working, there isn't a doctor in this world who'll recommend this.
Randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled studies are needed to convince the medical field. Not one, not two, but a whole lot. They all have to be of a certain size (100 kids won't change a thing....) and it would be terrible difficult to design an RCT that would be credible - how would you know/prove the difference between those who take MSB and those who took placebo? I'm not even going to get started on the amount of funding a study like this will require...
I've read the book the pharmacist behind MSB+ has written, and I wouldn't dare ask Bene's doctor to read it. If anything, he'd be even more skeptic about MSB after reading it. Why? There are a lot of convincing statements, but none of them are scientifically based. If anything, this will convince anyone in the medical/pharmaceutical field that what Dr. MacLeod really wants, is to sell more vitamins so that he can make more money.
That said, Bene is on MSB+. Why in the world would I do that, if I really view MacLeod's work the way I've stated above? Because I do believe he has a point about Bene's biochemistry is most likely functioning differently from that of a 46 chromosome child, and whatever is in the supplement, will not harm her in any way. If it works, great. If it doesn't, then ok to that, too. At least she'll have the nutrients in her body that she needs. And if it works, I don't care if there aren't any RCT's that prove it does.
We've decided to keep her on it for at least 6 months. If I don't see one difference after that, I'll reconsider.

Well... my ped didn't recommend MSB+ but... HE does want Austin on vitamins. He doesn't specify what kind. lol
I'm beginning to see a difference too. Austin's been on it 2 full days. This is day 3. It's little things... like trying to replace the batteries in the remote control when they back fell off. He KNEW exactly what they were and where they go. He's also vocalizing more. Anyone else notice more language???

Thank you for all the replies. I am going to try it when we get back from an upcoming weekend trip. Cameron was sick on and off for over 2 weeks and his symptoms came back last Thursday for just the day. I don't want to have to postpone our trip.
But, I didn't expect my doctor or any doctor to endorse MSB, just wondering if I should check with her before putting him on it. I wasn't planning on check with the doctor, actually. I know what she'll say. Cameron is always making slight progress, but he is so behind in milestones, I was just going to try it and see if it makes a difference. Thanks! Rae

We noticed more attempts at vocalizing with Mikey. He seems much sharper with the MSB+. The best, though, is the behavior improvements. When we ran out, the OT could not work with him. He would throw everything on the floor and anything she gave to him, even things he previously enjoyed playing with, he only wanted to throw at her. When we finally got the MSB+ and started it again, Mikey changed overnight. Suddenly he was back to his old self. But I have heard similar complaints from school if he misses a dose of his psychiatric meds so the MSB+ can be used on its own. They work together to make the meds work better.
