I saw how MSB+ seems to help some kids, I did a little reading and decided to send off for the samples and see if they made any difference. I have been a skeptic, but went into this with an open mind and really wanted to see a difference.
As background Callum is four and a half years old, very healthy, eats a good range of fruits and vegetables. Probably about average in the PT & OT areas with other kids his age with DS and maybe slightly ahead verbally. He goes to the local school, plays well with his brother and alongside his peers, is a bit shy, likes a wide variety of activities but his attention span isn't the greatest.
We've just finished the samples and, for Callum, I don't think they made any noticeable difference and we wont be ordering any more.
On the plus side Callum had no problems with any of the flavours and they seemed to mix easily into juice. Callum drank it every morning in one dose with no hesitation at all.
We have had problems with loose bowels, not diarrhea just large and soft 2 or 3 times a day and seemed to overflow his diapers. Pee was a little smelly but I expected that as you get that with a lot of vitamins.
Healthwise he hasn't been sick, but he's not usually a sickly child and hasn't been to the doctors for about a year. Mood wise he's been a bit "off" just not quite himself, but that could have been starting the new school year, growing up or something else entirely, who knows!
Attention wise he's been about the same. Speech has improved but at the same rate that it was improving prior to the vitamins.
So that's my honest assessment, for Callum. We're going back to his normal kids multivitamin with Omega 3.

My personal opinion is that vitamin supplements do not help kids that are doing well. With Mikey they seem to help with behavior which means that if behavior wasn't a problem with Mikey then we wouldn't be seeing any difference.

thats interesting Naomi
I am still debating, not sure if I should send off for free samples
where did you get the free samples from Naomi??
Tom did it make a difference to Mikey's concentration and looking at you more, Hannah seems to go off into her own little world most of the time and the lack of eye contact is very noticeable so wondered if it made a difference to that?

Jo,
I phoned the number that Tom posted in another thread 1-888-384-7855, to dial from the UK it's 001-888-384-7855, you will get a recorded message saying that you will have to pay for the call (I think it might be a freephone number in the US). The call took less than 5 minutes and the samples arrived within about a week or 10 days. If you phone early evening then it'll be within the US work day. The samples lasted about 6 weeks.
The way I saw it the vitamins weren't going to hurt Callum and they were free (well the cost of a 5 minute international call) so what was the harm. If they helped they helped and if they didn't they didn't.

Jo, i sent an email to the sales department asking about Mexico, and someone in charge of the sales to Latin America replied asking for my address , so i didn't had to pay a phone call

I actually tried it too. I didn't see any difference either. It really aggravated his reflux, so I stopped. I am glad it helps other kids on the forum, it just wasn't for us.

Now this is what happened when we did the UK vitamins and minerals trial. Hannah has reflux and the sachet of stuff ( which we found out after the trial was the full dosage of both vitamins and minerals ) always made her throw up
still I guess if its free its worth a go

Yes, we saw that Mikey was much more focused on task but that may have been because his behavioral issues were under control.

Naomi, our experience was very similar to yours. I really wanted to see a difference. We used them for 8 weeks but I didn't see any significant changes. Just this weekend, I started her back on her former vitamins. I think it's really great they send out the vitamin samples - it truly gives you an indication of whether you want to use them or not.

same here! some people around noticed a big change on Elias behavior, but i think its due to school more than msb+ we still have one sample jar,
i friend and i ordered at the same time, and supposly we were going to give at the same time to see changes at the same time, but she didnt gave it to her kid.... im sure those will help him so much! as he has a little more delays in motor and language skills

Wil has been on them as well and we have seen a positive change in him. He is much more focused and attentive - all of his therapists commented on improvement in his "attending". He has appeared generally more motivated and definitely more interested in his environment. He has picked up more signs and is attempting more sounds.
It is certainly hard to know if he was on the cusp of any of this but to us it was a pretty marked difference over the course of the month he was on the samples. So we ordered more. I should add that we did not tell his therapists that he was on anything; We didn't want them to be looking for changes that may not have been there.
So that has been our experience. We'll keep him on for now but at some point we will have to re-evaluate, they are expensive.

But isn't it about what it is doing for them on the inside, which we can't see? For me, it is about helping with oxidative stress and we can't see that. That helps their systems in the long run and I've read about all that working to prevent the alzheimers that so very often occurs in our kids later down the road. For me, it is about that.

Rylee's been on MSB for about a month now... no noticeable changes for us yet... we're going to use up all of the samples we have and then decide what to do. It's difficult to decide because they are so expensive, yet if they're doing her body good (that sounded like a milk commercial) then it's worth it. I have to say, we love Rylee to pieces just the way she is (but I wouldn't mind if these vitamins help her focus just a bit more!) Time will tell, I guess!
