Low-dose lithium?

I was reading recently about low-dose lithium in adults for improving brain function and preventing Alzheimer's. There was no info I could find on giving it to children though, nor anything about people with DS in particular. Does anyone know more about using it with our children? We don't use any vitamin etc. therapy right now - do the ones you use include this?

Thanks,
Jan

Research on the TS65DN mouse model (the standard Ds mouse model) showed improved brain growth. No research has been done on humans with Ds yet.
