My poor baby is so sick. We spent all day Satyrday in the hospital to learn he has Pneumonia. He started running a fever Friday and then Saturday it went up to 104.5. When we go there his oxygen was 90 sp they went ahead and did xrays. His right lung has the Pneumonia. They put him on Augmentin and breathing treatments.
Poor little man looks so sick it brakes my heart. I'm calling the doc tomorrow if he doesn't look any better. I'm hoping he's better. We don't like them hospital stays. Could you all say some extra prayers that he wakes tomorrow feeling and looking better? Thanks all.

Monday: I'm calling the doc this mornig. This was our 4th bad night in a row. I'm having a hard time getting him to take is Augmentin. I'm luck if he swallows half his dose. He'll make it puddle in the back of this throat, gag and then puke everything up. Fever is still up to 103. And he's not eating. I keep on telling my husband that I feel they should of admitted him to the hospital Saturday. I hate our ER doc's here in my town. Thanks for your prayers.
Tuesday...Took Austin back to the doc's yesterday because his fever is still up over 103. She took a nose swab to check for the flu along with him having Pneumomia. We'll know the results Thursday. He has his swallow test today and she wants to keep it because of the Pneumomia I guess to make sure that he's not aspirating food in his lungs. She's worry that could be the reason for the Pneumonia. I asked her what if that's the case and all she said is we would have to look into another way to feed him. Does that mean a feeding tube? She never went into details.
He's still sleeping now, and his breathing sounds a bunch better. I'm hoping when he wakes he's feeling more himself. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers to you. I'm with you, I hate hospital stays but pneumonia is SO hard for our little ones to get over sometimes that is the best place for them for a few days. Keep us posted.

Usually if a child is aspirating, they'll try thickening his liquids first. Unless, like when Angela was little, she couldn't swallow anything thinner than pudding without aspirating.
