Hi, we wanted to share a little bit of our experience with the members on this forums since we can definitely relate to many of you.
Our second child David was born august 10 2009. During my wife's third month of pregnancy we found about the extra chromosome and possibly CHD (TOF) was also going to be something that we we're going to have to deal with. Needless to say how hard the months that followed were to us, God gave us the strength and we kept the faith. David was born on August 10 , 2009, he underwent open heart surgery to fix his TOF 3 weeks after he was born and on October 1st he was finally home.
David is now 6 months and just this past weekend we noticed after waking up from a nap that he was having spasms that lasted for about 5 minutes , we got very concerned and decided we were going to call his doctor first thing Monday morning (today). As I type this my wife is now at the Child's neurologist office so we can have David checked and make sure he gets all the help he needs.
I spent the whole morning researching on the Infantile spams and just spoke to my wife a while ago, she left the doctor's office straight to the hospital, they are admitting David now and sometime tomorrow they will probably start him on ACTH, we are very scared but faithful that God is in control! I ask that whoever reads this, please keeps David in your prayers ! Thanks and God bless.

Hi - I am so glad that I opened your posting. My daughter Quinn was dx with IS in October and began ACTH. Although the tx is difficult and Quinn was very uncomfortable thoughout the process, she has made GREAT gains after the completion of it! It is tough decision to do ACTH, but we were so right to do it. Please do talk to Larkin's mom, she is a great resource. If you want to ask me any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me. I will be praying for David and all of your family.

Hi everyone ! I want to thank God in the first place and everyone of you that remembered David in your prayers!

February was a long month indeed! David was admitted into the hospital on Feb 2, started his ACTH treatment on the 10th, by Feb 12th his seizures had completely stopped! He then continued his full dosage treatment for another 2 weeks before being discharged. David went home on a low dosage and is doing great! God is faithful! Very Happy
