Just wondering if anybody else saw the movie "Temple Grandin" on HBO. So inspiring and quite an amazing story! Thoughts or comments if you saw it.

Oh, I posted about this on Facebook last weekend. We watched it on Saturday. It was an AWESOME MOVIE!!!! It's currently "On Demand" on HBO.
Temple Grandin has autism, and was born in the early 50's. She was the first person with Autism to be able to tell people what it's like to have Autism, and how some people with Autism process information.
I read a book by temple YEARS ago, and it was fascinating. Temple is an amazing person. And the movie does a great job of portraying her early years. I just read an article the other day about her input on the movie, and how she felt about it, and she really liked how it turned out. And, once you watch the movie, you know there is NO WAY this movie would have been aired if it wasn't accurate! LOL

I watched it today On Demand--it was GREAT!! I have to admit that there were a couple of spots that made me tear up--especially the mother-daughter bits. I think it's so wonderful that she has been able to tell the world what it is like to be autistic. What an amazing mind she has!

I read her story when I was in high school, and saw her speak long before I married DH and had Clara. She is incredible. But when you meet her face to face you can still see the social discomfort despite her accomplishments and she is very open about her discomfort and how stressful it is for her to deal with people. But she does it anyway!

I watched this again this morning!! I've been thinking about the movie and about Temple all day. My favorite line of the movie was.....
"Different....not less!!"

I just read that she has a new book out called "Animals Make Us Human". I haven't gotten to read any of her other books yet, though.
