Haiden has tortacollis...his head is always tilted to left. I do stretches with him and tummy time is supposed to help. Anyone here experienced this? If so...how long did it take before everything was aligned?

Torticollis. I have a little biased view on how to treat this. My hubby is a chiropractor/acupuncturist. I just asked him how he treats this on kids with Ds. He showed me some stretching on muscle work that he would do. He also offered to talk to you on the phone if you are interested. He could explain the muscle stretching if you would like.

The pictures of Haiden in your signature are heavenly!! He is so sweet! You are a very nice family together! I wish I could just scoop him up!!

We have experience with this too. It is really important to learn to do the dtretches and to get a home program going with the help of a physical therapist. I don't know anything about chiropractor so I can't speak to that.

You can help your baby by laying them on the opposite side as much as possible, I used a bobby to support him in place.

When offering toys to play with or look at make sure they are offered to the side they need to turn towards.

When he is asleep gently turn his head to the other side. Always be gentle and no need to force the muscles when turning the head. When he is awake he might resist but once they are asleep they are malleable.

After ten weeks of therapy Nathaniel's torticullis is completely resolved but we caught it early too.

Your baby is beautiful! Love all the pictures.

Austin had this as well. You need to see a PT who can show you the exercises. This WONT go away on it's own. Austin wore a helmet because his head became so flat from the tortacollis. The helmet actually cured both the flat head and the head tilt.

Yep, Kayla has it as well. Her PT showed us how to do the neck stretches and massage. It hasn't completely gone away, but it's not as pronounced as it used to be.

We've been doing the stretches as well. She had a wicked flat spot on her head, but now it is nice and round since she's been wearing her helmet!

Here's a link to the picture of her in it!

She got in in it late December and should be weaning from it starting next week!
