i am in shock sitting in front of my comuter scared to death. we jsut found out my dad has a very large tumor on his liver. we will not know anything until the biopsy on wed. i am so scared, my dad has scerosis of the liver....we are jsut praying it has not spread so they can remove this tumor and he will be okay. i am so not ready to loose my dad...nor are my kids. just please think of my dad and say a small prayer our family will make it through this.....his name is ed enochs. i will apologize ahead of time as i am afraid i will not be around for awhile. i am just so angry at life and so scared of what tomorrow will bring. i often wondor how much one family has to go through. thanks for listening to me. i am off to try and put a happy smile on for my son's 6th b-day party. lord....help me! __________________ Tara Mommy to... Tara, take a deep breath. My father had a similar thing happen to him. He was able to have what was then experimental surgery in which half his liver was removed. The liver is amazing and actually regenerates itself. That surgery extended his life several years (he had a lot of other problems that finally took him unrelated to the liver). I've been through the cancer stuff with both my parents. Very scary. I'm praying that your father's tumor is benign and all is well! i will be amazed if i sleep tonight.....my dad goes in for an mri in the a.m. to find out if the tumor is mastetic(sp?) and what kind and what not. plus we are and must hear the results of the biposy. another day of worry....thank you all so much for caring and praying for my dad.....it means so much to me. i feel it is funny how life is put into perspectives with hurdles to overcome. i have been so upset about matthew, and the ds......i thought nothing could be worse. but he is here....well....happy .....and PERFECT!!!! the thought of my dad being sick is awful......i am not ready nor is he or anyone else....this has come as such a blow.... sorry to be rambleling...can you tell i am a nervous wreck yet????? anyways thank you-i will keep u posted.... waiting for this phone call jsut brings me back to waiting on matthew.....it has been a LONG weekend!!!! __________________ Tara Mommy to... I can't say I am thrilled the tumor is still there but I can say Thank You God for the results of it showing not spread to any other part of the body. We jsut got the results of his biposy....came back inconclusive and no signs of cancer. hard to believe because he DOES have Hep C. His blood work showed the tumor, but it is not in the blood vessels or the lungs or the limpnoids(sp?) he is now being referred to a Oncologist, and will be seen this week. They will determine a final diagnosis and treatment for him. Thank you all so much for prayers...they mean so much. Although we still are not sure what is going on...I have to believe..... For all of you and all your prayers thank you so much. My days have been much of a fog, and my worries heavy. My dad is to start his Chemo in the morn. Please....pray he will be okay and tolerate everything......my dad is my everything....my crutch, and we are so connected since Matthew has been norn. He has a bond with him that is too cool!!!! It was always dad who was there in the NICU before I was....standing over him with full smiles. Reminding me everything will be okay. My dad is a wiet man, so this took me by much suprise. He is the kind of man, you know loves you with his entire heart....but just is solid as a rock. His emotions are not shown to often.....I jsut hate that he is going through this...that we as a family are going through this. My sister is dealing with Autism for my nephew, me with Ds, and now my dad all in less than a year, I have to ask why sometimes. But I know....as in the past....when I can no longer deal I can hand it over to the Lord, to help ease my pain, and help me understand. Tara, I know a bit of what you are going through. It was only in the past year that my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4, Renal Cell Carcinoma....the final stage of kidney cancer. I asked for prayers on here and I prayed with all of my might that, although it looked bad, and his kidney was the size of two footballs, and the cancer should have been widespread and deadly....I prayed that it had not spread. Now generally, to be Stage 4 it would have been only called that because it had spread. But his was so large....it qualified as Stage 4. My dad's cancer DID NOT spread, he had a kidney removed, had a wonderful recovery, all things considered, and he's perfect now. Just believe it, Tara, that's what I did. Faith. My dad is the PERFECT Popa. Not to mention, although I have two siblings, he and I are closest...it's a strange bond. It's like I am him, but only female, lol. Hang in there. dad is doing well thanks to all your thoughts and prayers. he just had his 3nd round of chemo on Fri. So far so good, he is taking less meds for pain as it has been a bit better. I just really hope this works and the tumor shrinks and they can don something....make him better! It is just so sad....my dad can't retire and there are no savings. My poor mom is wigging out! So bless my dads heart, finished chemo and went to work. I just pray for the strenghth for my family to offer, and the strenghth of my dad's body. __________________ Tara Mommy to... Tough, not emotional, he has had a Motorcycle accident that nearly took his legs at the hip..that was 33 yrs ago..mEDICLA SCIENCE SAVED THEm. He had appendicites, few yrs later.. and he has no gall blader or spleen.. Good lord..are all these just spare parts? then the big C came while i was in high school.. had cancer of the thyroid.. took that out too... 3 yrs ago.. he had male breast cancer..took a boob.. chemo and what used to look like santa clause growing up.. is.. not what he looks like now.. 1 week ago... he had a cancer check up.. none spread... his heart is good as can be after all this... he will be 67 this year... hang tough and God bless your dad.. he sounds like a troopper like my daddy! __________________ Deborah, momma to Emily Grace 3/22/03.
