Hello alltogether,

Cecilie has ear tubes and really loves swimming. We now hesitate to let her dive (or have her head under water). Do your children have problems with ear tubes and diving?

Oh... I hope not. Cecilie looks so great in the water. I hope all goes well with her being able to keep it up!

I used to worry about it. One ENT had specially fitted ear plugs made for Jaymes - dumb things keep falling out or he takes them out though. Our new ENT said not to worry about the water anymore. He would be fine. We actually have to worry more about his drinking the water (and aspirating) than we do about going underwater.

Talk to your ENT and see what they recommend. Will she keep ear plugs in her ears?

My son had ear tubes put in recently and the doctor has given us a prescription (ear Drops) That we use if he goes under 2 feet of water or put his head in soapy water!
It has really helped me too relax knowing if Nolan goes swimming or dunks his head in the bath tube I don't panic.

As long as she's not going deep under water then she's fine. The only time we put ear plugs in Callum is when we wash his hair - it's soapy water that you need to keep out.

We were told that as long as she isn't going under really deep water, then it is fine. My son got his tubes last spring and we went through the whole summer with no ear plugs, which the doc said was fine....and his tubes are still in.

Is she actually only a little over a year old and is diving? I see her birthday as 2/25/05, is that correct? WOW, what was the question again, ha ha, I am just amazed that she's doing so well in the water, that's incredible!!!
