There's a train and Laura, Hayden's Mom, and Jenna both suggested it separately. That will be good for us. If we're going to hang out on Sunday as well we could go to either of these... Austin Children's Museum This museum has grown into one of the most fabulous experiences for children in Austin. Find out about the development of children from birth to adolescence, climb a "time tower," and learn about everything from dinosaurs to computers. Special programs for children and their parents are regular parts of the museum's curriculum. Take tiny tots to the 2-and-under special explore time, or learn about multimedia with your teen. With excellent specialty programs offered for all ages and wonderful exhibits, this is a museum the whole family can enjoy. Austin Zoo Enjoy a hill country setting in a family environment. This privately owned home originally started with a small selection of farm animals and has now grown into a wild animal sanctuary and zoo. See Bengal tigers, lemurs, a butterfly garden and more! The picnic areas are perfect for a birthday party or company event. We should also plan food...do we want to pack sacks or play at the park and then eat at a family friendly restaurant? Children's museum is nice and COOL (temp wise that is ) Just keep in mind that the Austin Zoo is not a "real" zoo but what I would call a sanctuary. We love it because its only 10 minutes from my house and its small and not very crowded so my little ones don't get too tired or bored when going through it. Which ever one we chose I can't wait !!! As far as a restraunt, there are lots of kid friendly places, Shady Grove on Barton Creek, Chucky Cheese on Ben White. It has a picnic area in front and is really shady everywhere so this time of year the heat would not be too bad. But again, I am open to anything !! __________________ Stacey B. Oh man, I was hoping I could take a trip to see my brother and meet all of you too, but the timing isn't good for me Maybe next time. Let's exchange cell phone numbers on the PM in case of rain (but the forecast looks GREAT)or in case someone gets lost. It's really easy to find.
