Go look at the picture here . Mikey is sleeping in what I describe as "folded in half" and Michel describes as "butt up" position. Mikey sleeps on his stomach with his feet under his chin. His hands are under his feet. This is his normal position unless you put a blanket on him in whcih case he squirms around the bed until the blanket is off and then goes back to his "folded in half" position. Do any of your children have odd sleeping positions?

Tom, Megan sleeps in odd positions too and HATES blankets.

She sleeps folded in half, head between legs(the only difference between Mikey's picture and Megan's position is that her legs are in a stradle position)...uncomforatble to us...very comfortable to them.

My uncle tells me that the hyper-flexiblity which enables them to do this is actually comfortable to them...he tells me that is one reason Megan has chosen not to walk...it is just too easy the other way.

Here's some funny sleep positions of Darah. The girl moves so much though in her sleep it's ridulous! She also talks and sings in her sleep! When she was a newborn, it freaked us out how she would hyper-extend her neck...we think it was because she was in heart failure and was trying to open her airway up to breathe better...Poor baby!! I'm going to get a picture of her doing her jackknife like Mikey tonight. She switches positions every other second, it won't be hard!!

Hannah does something similar but hers is more like she is sitting up and falls over on her face. Her legs out straight. She used to do this all the time but not so much after her T&A surgery (no more sleep apnea) I love Mikey's new bed.Hannah got a new bed the other day too.I will have to post a picture soon.Hannah never stays covered either. She sleeps in a lot of feety PJ's to try to keep her warm.

When Austin falls asleep pouting with us...he folds over just like that. I have a blanket that zips up around him..like a sack. so he stays warm. I hate to see him folded over like that so eventually...I unfold him and he wakes up.
I think MIkey is too big for the sleep sack tho...maybe footy pajamas...I think LLBEan sells them that big. He'd probably HATE them tho.

Callum has never slept in really odd positions.

He sleeps on his tummy with his bum in the air, just like a little baby does.

How old was Mikey when you moved him from his crib to a toddler bed? Callum is still in a crib at 3 years old.

Grady sleeps in the "taco position" as well (as his PT calls it). I've asked her about it because I worry that it will harm his hips in the long run. She wasn't really sure.

We try to pull his legs out from under him, but he either wakes up or just pulls them right back in.

Oh, and he hates blankets too. Has never liked them. Wouldn't even be swaddled as a baby.

Colin sleeps like that or spreads his legs out in a splits type move and then folds over. Oh how it hurts me to look at him- but he sleeps well and doesn't ,move like that. If anyone has any suggestions for keeping him and Melea in their beds- I am all for it! He always crawls out- moves over to the door so he can see her and sometimes hold hands! It really is cute- but I think we actually need to start sleeping in a bed!

7. That's not a misprint. Mikey liked his crib and we liked the safety of the crib. Plus he NEVER tried to climb out of it.

Mikey hates anything on his feet. As soon as he is in the house or in the car, the shoes and socks come right off.

YES, and I think that's why Mikey looks so much like Noah in his bed there because I find Noah like that all the time, thought he'd grow out of it, but he still does this. When he was a baby he used to fall asleep in his high chair with his foot up by his ear and he'd hold his leg like a teddy bear!!!

William, too! I'll go to unfold him and he'll wake up the tiniest bit, then fold himself again.

I'm so glad Mikey likes his new bed! William is in a twin bed with wooden rails now and has adjusted really well, finally.

Jaymes sleeps the exact same way!! And no blankets. He gets mad if I cover him. But he sleeps WITH a blanket - it's usually bunched up under him.

Add Kenn to this list lol. She sleeps like that too and NO blankets. In fact, the only way she'll sleep all night now is if NOTHING is on her legs... SO she sleeps in a long sleeved shirt (can't be a onesie because she needs access to her belly button at all times lol) and a diaper, no pants, no blankets. Needless to say I keep my house very warm at night!

That's too funny! Mikey used to do the exact same thing. I think it was part of his plot to make sure we couldn't cover him with it!!!

Oh I am so happy hear and read all of your posts - Thanks Tom for the thread!!!

Add Abby too!!!

She refuses and I mean REFUSES blankets and footed pj's are out of the question too. If you "cover" her feet, she will get too warm and wake up screaming... which takes us about an hour to get her calmed down from.

I slept with Abby the other night for she was having some coughing fits and I could not believe that this child does a 360 in her sleeping positions, due to the "folded" position. We have tried on some occasions to unfold her, but she goes right back to it. I am actually amazed that she doesn't fall out of bed more often.

I was actually going to post something like this when I got a chance to see if any of your angels did the same. Very relieved to hear that they do.

Thanks again Tom.

Hannah sleeps in the folded up position too and no blankets ( even though i start off with one over her )

next morning I usually find socks, blankets and toys all thrown out of bed

a couple of times her pyjamas bottoms are off as well and once I found her nappy/diaper off too ( thank goodness she hadn't wet herself )

Madison sleeps almost the same way. She brings her knees up and her hands are under her chest. She has a really hard time getting comfortable. My older sister told me I used to sleep that way too when I was younger.

Here's another one of Mikey. Try this one if you dare. (1) Sit on the bed with your legs crossed as if you were doing yoga. (2) Fall straight ahead until your head is on the bed. (3) Start snoring. I would need surgery if I attempted to sleep that way.

Notice that his pajamas are pulled up over his knees and that he is sleeping on top of his blankets. We put him under the blankets at one point but he won't stay under them.
