I don't usually pass or post chain letters, but this is pretty deep and right on.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital. It was sent by a medical doctor.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

It is a lovely poem, but it's SPAM. I remember reading this one about 5 or 6 years ago, lol. I just don't understand why people do this...makes no sense to me. Some people just must not have a life outside of the internet. It's pretty much like the one that I posted. Oh well. At least this one comes with a better read

That's too bad. I like the poem itself though. I'm guilty myself and need to slow down. So it hit home for me.

I'll edit the pass on part...

Great poem!! Before I had children....my life was on fast forward. I worked over an hour away from home...I was literally attached to my cell phone and pager. I used to get paged in the middle of the nights sometimes!! I needed to slow down in a big way. Now I wake up to Elayna and Daniel....my angels!!

Thanks for sharing!!

I'm glad y'all enjoyed it.

Lisa - I hear you.

Fast perfection is my goal with everything that I do. It's stressful and unrealistic.

So here goes to taking it slower!
