Please tell me someone else's child does this!

Grady can be sitting and playing (or even be on our lap) and all of the sudden turn his head up to the ceiling and start babbling away like he's having a conversation. He gets all smiley and laughs.

It's a little strange, but I just keep saying he's checking in with God!

Oh....I posted about this a while back. Nicholas does this, but I've only seen him do it in the car. All of a sudden he'll be looking up and just SMILING, talks a little, SMILES! May sound weird to some, but I think he's talking to my dad, who passed away 1 1/2 yrs before he was born. I know they would have been great together!

Hannah used to do this when she was really little. She used to track something across the ceiling and point and say "who's that?" It should have creeped me out but I found it oddly comforting.I believe in my heart she was seeing a spirit or angel. She does not do this anymore and I kind of wish she did.

Kyle talks to someone but I don't think he looks up. He picks up a car or any other toy & talks into it like a phone. He has the hands going to.

We Catholics believe we each have a guardian angel. Someone once said that children can see them when they're very young - this is not church teaching, just someone's theory, I think. When my 5-year-old was around 2 and was just learning to speak well, he said good-bye to someone I couldn't see and I wondered if that was his guardian angel moving from being seen to not seen. And then I wondered if they stop being seen when the little ones are able to explain what they're seeing. And if our kids with Down Syndrome learn to communicate later maybe they get to see their angels later. I'm not sure if I believe it's true (about seeing them) but I do like to think about it.

Yeah. Austin does this too..usually in the car. I have my own theory. A friend of ours is a detective and he once told me that we look in a certain direction when we recall memories. I think Austin is thinking about some pleasant memory that makes him laugh. Or day dreaming. HOwever, I have no problem in believing that little ones see angels!!! AMY

The day that my great aunt died (who LOVED Noah), he stared at the ceiling almost the entire day, laughing, pointing, jabbering and talking to her, I just know he was talking to her.

Wow Chloe does the same thing. she will be playing and looks up and waves and jabbers and smiles. Sometimes she looks up over your shoulder and does it. We have always talked about her doing this. It is a nice feeling. She waves so cute, she just puts her little hand up in front of her chin and curls her little fingers.

Talitha often bends her head up and seems to be looking at something and smiling but there is nothing there. Our special kids have their own view of the universe I think.

Its WIND

I have noticed Sean ( 14 months) doing this laughing thing too, I would like to believe its my daddy, he passed away suddenly just as I found out I was pregnant with Sean. But I am almost sure that for Sean it is WIND or he is going to have a dirty nappy (diaper) SOON. It is very funny looking at him in stitches though... Sorry to break your imaginations up...P.s. I used to be such a good speller and since I have had my first and only baby, I cant remember how to spell... My head is gone, its mad.

Wow I have chills. Michael does this ALL THE TIME. There is a spot in my hall that he looks up and talks, hollars, laughs, waves his arms, you would think someone was there. Initially I thought maybe he was looking for my husband, our game room door comes up to the hall way, and that is the way my husband comes in from work. So I sort of thought he may just be be hollaring and waiting for dad. He sits in the same place in my living room, right in front of the love seat, so he's still in the room with us, but he sees directly into the hall. Its like we're not even there with him when he's doing this. You can barely get him to pay attention to you and if he does, he goes right back to babbling to the hall. So one night he was playing on the floor with my husband, got distracted by whatever this is, and went across the living room floor sat in his 'little spot' and went on and on! So then I knew he wasnt waiting for dad to come home. He watches the same spot on the ceiling while he does this. My husbands mom passed away when my husband was 18, Ive never met her, but often times I wonder if its her. And my husband reminded me that when Molly was a baby, and she was in her swing she would stare into the hall and smile the biggest smiles ever. I definitely think its an angel. It kind of brings me comfort just knowing that it is something pleasant, and obviously they are reaching out to my children, not haunting us terribly. My husband on the other hand gets very creeped out by it! I like to think that it is his mom staying involved with his life and his children that she didnt have the pleasure to meet in her first life.

It is interesting to know that you all have the same experiences!!!

Yeah Melissa I know, I talk to those angels all the time, usually when I'm rocking Jaemen we talk to Kylee, and ask her to watch out for Jaemen!!!They are doing a great job up there watching over us!!

Jaemen loves to just babble at the ceiling, window, fans, oh and his mobile! My mom once said what is he looking at and talking to...I said Nana of course! She was my favorite person in the world and she passed about 8 years ago...I know she would have loved Jaemen. I think our angels are definately talking to the angels above...

Madison carries on conversations with her socks, after they are off her feet and with the heating vents. Today for about 1/2 hour she sat in the powder room at my mother in laws a spoke to the toilet. No toys needed for our little ones....

Leah, Angela makes me laugh. I think Grady is just talking to God. (I have heard of kids talking to the ceiling fan too) At lest something is keeping him busy. Very Cute!!

YES! I often think of our 3 Downsyn Angels when Grady does this. I know he's talking to them and they're looking out for us, I just know it.
