HI there Heather,
My baby Sean is nearly 15 months born prem 8.5 weeks and had duodenal atresia as well, hence an operation, total blockage of the bowel. we were in a childens hospital here in Ireland for 10 weeks in total. Since then we have had problems with consipation, reflux, airways, you name it we had it. we had a terrible first year, Since he has turned one, to our amazement, he is flying, no heart problems, I give im poo softner each day, he has a great appetite, still has reflux, and is a dreadfully HAPPY CHAPPIE, hes georgous, never hardly cries, and is a source of inspiration of myself and my hubbie. I have to say and my Paed says the same the first year, he was a very sick baby, since his birthday or even maybe from about 9 months old, everything is sorting itself oout with Intervention and loads of appointments, Cysts usually go themselves, perhaps they will do a biopsy on them. the main thing is for you to try and rest, sleep, etc. as you will need it for when AVA (lovely Name) gets out of hospital. The best of luck and keep reading, you will be amazed at your little honey... Fiona Mam to Sean and Wife to Peter, Ireland.
