... if you all give TNI to your kids with or without the blood beeing checked. Do your doctors advice you to give Nutrivene? How do know aboaut the rigth dosage?
Over here we have a childrens doctor who is very much into TNI. He has got a son with DS too, whom he gives that too. He advices to take TNI only with doctorly control. So we see him once a year, we always take a new blood picture (?) with us. With that he figures out the dosage (?).
Marina gets TNI a little before her 2nd birthday. It was very hard to get her used to it, but after half a year it was no problem anymore. I really cannot tell, if it makes any difference, since I dont know how she would be without it. But I can tell that she is hardly nerver sick or ill at all (except for her running nose ).

We get my brother's blood tested every 3 months right now - since we are monitoring his thyroid, zinc and selenium levels (since he is hypothyroid and deficient in zinc and selenium). But, if we were not concerned about his thyroid and zn and se levels, we would check every 6 months, most likely.
We did not ask our doctor if it was okay to give Nutrivene. We started giving my brother NTV-D and then sent info to our doctor about TNI. He was okay with it and had really no opinion on it. But, it didn't matter if he approved it or not - we would still give it.
We figure out the dosage according to the dosage on the nutrivene-d bottle. If you go to riverbend's site, you can see how much Nutrivene-D you are supposed to give. I can give that link, if you don't have it.
