A while ago, LisaJ posted about the special therapy her child was receiving in the hands of her speech therapist. She talked about palatal massage, avoidance of bottles, soothers, and other issues.

Just recently, she referred me to a site which I beleive is just excellent. I wanted to be sure everyone knew about it. It has several excellent articles which discuss how feeding in infancy relates to the eventual development of speech. It really EXPLAINS WHY children with DS sometimes have protruding tongues, ear infections, upper respiratory tract infections and problems speaking, and tells you HOW TO AVOID these problems in very practical, day to day, ways.

Here is the site:
http://www.oromotorsp.com

I hope you find this as incredibly insightful as I did!!

Thanks for linking us up to this great site, LisaJ!
