I have only ever heard of these vitamins from all of you on here. How did you all hear about them? I am especially interested in knowing from those who started out at an early age. I have never once had a doctor talk to me about them or recommend them and I have been to Developmental Ped's as well. Just curious. Thanks for any input.

Hi Stephanie! I heard about the TNI shortly after Drake was born because of my family being in the pediatric therapy business. Apparently, when patients started hearing that my little guy had DS they ran to my mom, sister & aunt offering up all kinds of info. My mom ordered the stuff when Drake was around 2mos and had been in the hospital for some kind of virus. Scared us as his heart wasn't repaired yet. OUr last order was for the micro-encapsulated formula and it doesn't mix well with liquids and Drake won't take it on his food. He has been sick for a MONTH. We have ordered the other kind that mixes with liquid better and I'm looking forward to getting him well. It CANNOT be coincidence. It seems every time he goes without it AT ALL, he falls ill. The geneticist told me it was snake oil. The Cardiologist and Ped both said, "well, it can't hurt". But our ped is always impressed with Drake's good health. He NEVER has even a runny nose...until this month and he hasn't been getting enough due to the problem as stated above. When the doc remarks about his good health I always make a point to say..."well, maybe it's due to the Nutrivene." He smiles and usually says, "Perhaps". Maybe he'll start recommending them .

I heard of MSB+ from another mom in the area who has a son w/DS shortly after Kayla was born and I was talking to a lot of people about DS. Then I called a few other moms and they were using it, too. So, I asked my ped and he said it can't hurt, so I gave it a try. Still use it, although not as regularly as I probably should.

Forgot to add, started Kayla at 3 months. Don't know if it helps, I don't think she's particularly high functioning for DS (her friend who doesn't take anything is much higher functioning), maybe about average.

Our ped. told us about MSB in the hospital when Carson was born. She assured us that it was out there but we wouldn't want to bother with it. I started Carson on TNI instead after talking to another mother that I met. We started Carson on it when he was almost 4 months.

Well you know Payton has been on NTD since 3 months of age. She is doing great, but I can't say whether or not it is her or the NTD. I can say that we ran out about 3 days ago and she has been the child from H E double toothpicks for about that amount of time. Coincidence, I dunno, but it sure makes me think! Hopefully our refill will be here tomorrow or the day after.
Our ped knows nothing about it and doesn't even comment. Our geneticist is not necessarily for it, but she doesn't tell us it is snake oil either, she just says to monitor the bloodwork. I also mentioned it to Pat Winders the other day and she didn't have a huge opinion, but said that it seems to have been proven that it causes no ill effects, so why not try it? I agree.
We also are starting Payton on Nordic Naturals DHA. That was recommended to us by Dr. Leichtman. I will also be putting her on Juice Plus as soon as I figure out a way to give it to her. I used to be skeptical of Juice Plus, but now I have my whole family on it. Research shows that it improves the oxidation. I may become a distributor, so let me know if you are interested!
