I'VE DECIDED TO PULL OUT MY SON FROM PUBLIC SCHOOL AND HOMESCHOOL HIM...MY QUESTION IS, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HOMESCHOOLING FOR COURTNEY? DARIN WANTS ME TO DO IT, MAINLY BECAUSE BOTH OF HER BROTHERS WILL BE HOMESCHOOLED. SHE HAS INTERACTION WITH OTHER KIDS AT CHURCH AND OTHER FRIENDS.
I'M IN A SPOT....IS IT FAIR TO SEND HER OFF TO SCHOOL AND KEEP THE BOYS HOME??
SHE CAN GET SPEECH AND PHYSICAL THERAPY IN ADDITION. AND ITS NOT LIKE SHE IS DOING SOME MAJOR PROGRESSION AT HER PRESENT SCHOOL...
TELL ME WHAT YA'LL THINK...
THE MORE THE MERRIER...
THANKS!!

Hey Jenn,
I am not surprised about your decision to home school your son. You have talked to me about it before.
I have an internet friend who lives in Pennsylvania. She has nine children (one 10 year old son with DS) and she has homeschooled ALL her kids. I guess it CAN be done. I would think that it would take a TREMENDOUS amount of patience and perseverance (which I would NOT have). If you're interested, I could put you in touch with her. I think it would be better for Courtney to do the same as her brothers, rather than going off to school every day while they stay home.
Good luck,

Congratulations!
I am so impressed that you have the patience to home school. I think it is a neat thing to do with your children. I can't imagine doing it though.
My son is just turning three. He started at school when he was two. Maybe he is more stubborn than most, but I have noticed so many wonderful advancements since he started school. All my kids do more at school than they do for me.
I have to take Willie to a different school than the others. I would love for them to be together.
Anyway, I just rambled and didn't really help I'm sure. Just wanted you to know I see both sides of this one.
Good luck!

Hey Jen,
I also praise your efforts if you have the patience for home schooling. I, myself, would have to agree with Willie's Mom, my kids do way more at school than they would ever do at home for me. (I have trouble getting them to do homework).
For you, I don't think there is anything wrong with trying it as long as she has interaction with other kids. If it doesn't seem to be working for Courtney, you can always re-enroll her.
