Why does everyone read my thread but no one posts?
The count showing the number of views of a thread includes guests who can't post and search engines indexing the site so not everyone who views the thread can post. There are also many, many lurkers on the site who visit all the time but haven't posted at all.
Sometimes your fellow members really don't have a response. They may not have an answer or their answer may not be different than one you have already received. This is a friendly community and no one is deliberately snubbing you. Promise!

While I will admit that it hurts my feelings when I post things and get very few responses, I do understand that people typically don't have anything to say or they are guests on the board.

Sometimes I reply to posts, but for some reason the post does not go through. Sometimes its simply because I don't have enough time to reply to all the posts. I do read everyone posts, its just difficult to reply to everyone each day. Also on somedays there are loads of new posts, so things move preety fast around here.

Sometimes I have nothing to say (believe it or not!) or I'm having computer trouble and can't reply. Are you making your subjects specific, or are they general like "I have a question", "I have a problem"? Folks have to read your thread to find out if they have something to share if the subject is too vague. This will give you high reading numbers without responses.

And sometimes if I have already posted I will read anytime anyone else posts so it will show it being read more times than there are replies. I also don't always have time to post and sometimes I will be half way done replying when my little friend Anna will interrupt me and then I think I have replied and nothing shows up.

i confess I read more than I post, and also look at the lovely photos too on the photo section and don't always post because I am frantically trying to get through the threads and then one of the girls interrupts me and I totally forget where I have got to and if I have replied at all
hence why most of the time I tend to be up late at night ( too late ) as I only usually have Rachel interupting me for feeds ( sometimes my husband interupts me!!! if only to tell me to get off the computer lol )
I am sorry if people have got upset by me not posting sometimes on their posts. Please don't take it personally, I love you all honestly and just think that you really are helping me by posting it, even if I can't always reply to say thank you
Please don't stop posting you are supporting me and others and thats what this place is all about

When I get really busy, I try really hard to read the posts and keep up, but I don't have time to reply and try to come back later to post. But, I don't always make it back to that thread, because by that time, there are a slew of new posts to read and catch up on! I do try to post though when I have something useful to say (at least I think it is useful...LOL), or an answer to someone's question. I think everyone's threads get viewed a million times more than there are responses.

I guess I'm like a lot of others , I like to be the reader. there are usually so many different interesting posts that is hard to respond to all. and sometimes I'll view my response before I send it and I think well that sounds stupid, who's going to care? But I do love to read all the posts.

I read a lot but as I have to fight for computer time between my DH and my 3 other kids I can't always respond. Also sometimes I just don't know what to say or I have no relevant knowledge. Sometimes our !@#$% computer has a nervous breakdown and won't let me post.
It can be a bit frustrating when waiting for responses to see so many views but I figure at least people are reading my post

Thanks for this thread Tom. I often wonder why I post threads that have no replies.

I read more then I post too....it's just hard to keep up with so many new people. I post when I have an answer that can help and post as often as I can.

same here, as many wrote above - lack of time or knowledge and the fact that there are SO many posts i just can't keep up!!! plus dial-up (when i'm at home) keeps me from doing much of anything on the computer. but, that's what we sacrifice for living in the woods i'll take the seclusion of the country life any day.
another reason, i believe, is that many of us (or at least i do) forget about the Specialty Topis sometimes and those posts go unoticed as the Question Section gets hit hardest even for health and other specialty issues.
i like to help people by answering questions and/or pointing them in the right direction and by praying. so, i hit the question and prayer request sections most.
when i have a little extra time, i even like to 'View Unanswered Posts' (top right on Index page) to see if i can reply to those posts. although i don't have a whole lot of time to spend here, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
THANKS TOM FOR ALL YOU DO!!!

I just came upon this topic. I don't post that much seeing as I have 380 posts and I have been a member here for quite a few years. I try to read the posts, but sometimes I just don't have a response or someone already posted a response that would similar to the one I would post. I want everyone to know that I love reading what the kids are up to and I remember them in my prayers.
